Lewis and Clark Great Journey West Parent Review
For 45 minutes, what a great ride...
I couldn't believe how Brusque this was and notwithstanding how substantial the filmmakers managed to make it. You know, while Eyes Broad Close, The Light-green Mile, Titanic, and other films are making it seem like "ballsy" has to mean "ass falling asleep in seat" moviemaking, this film actually manages to achieve the same kind of epic scope, run a risk, sense of drama, and sheer wonder yet maintain BREVITY! Believe me, even though information technology'south less than an hr, you're definitely getting your coin's worth. What I realized halfway into the picture was I wanted to come up away from the pic with an education about the route that Lewis & Clark took, not just its consequence on the country. I think everybody knows that Lewis&Clark explored and opened upwardly the Northwest for the United States, producing questionable furnishings for the Indians of the time period. Nonetheless, until seeing this motion-picture show, I would not take been able to tell you the rivers, nor u.s.a. that their coiffure traversed. I besides liked the fiddling details they took the time to put in, like that of Sacagawea and the slave existence the first woman and blackness man officially voting for a decision of the U.s.a. of America, that existence where to set up Lewis&Clark'due south winter base camp on the Pacific.
The lack of dialogue betwixt the characters (for the near role) is odd, but after a while, yous get used to it. It's almost like a return to silent filmmaking somehow, where facial expressions fabricated all the difference. Jeff Bridges provides a commanding and wise presence for the journeying, and the score soars. ****

An IMAX Visual Feast
Visually stunning on a huge IMAX screen, this brusk movie (42 minutes) is an accurate delineation of the epic Regular army trek to the Pacific commanded by Lewis and Clark. Assuming modern sensibilities, the film shows Native Americans as far more accommodating than they actually were and the terminate credits tell us that two Indians were killed in a skirmish during the return trip.
The scenery is gorgeous, a reminder of how much wilderness we withal have and must preserve. For the younger set in particular this picture show is a good history lesson.
For information technology's genre, nine/10.

IMAX at Its Best
This picture recently came to the IMAX theater here in Milwaukee. I relish all IMAX films, but this one was especially awe-inspiring. Documentary at its best, "Lewis and Clark" educates while entertaining. Maps are skillfully used to show the progress of this dandy journey westward, the actors melt into their roles, and the scenery is scenic.

Excellent, short flick of the 1804 Corps of Doscovery trip west.
I saw this as a DVD copy of the IMAX presentation. The film is well made and shows in a short form what the trek consisted of, the obstacles they encountered, the overall success of it. No matter what your political leanings, this expedition 200 years agone was a landmark in exploring the western half of what we at present know of the United Sates. I have vacationed in the mountains of Montana, I cannot imagine existence a band of men in that era trying to cross those mountains with a gunkhole and supplies. Not merely did they endeavour, they reached the Pacific Body of water.
As an IMAX film it is obviously very bonny visually. Pains were taken to motion-picture show in authentic areas. For those who like to learn more than about the "behind the scenes" work, there is also an interesting "making of" actress on the DVD. A loan from my local public library.

great picture
i just saw this at the omnimax theater in duluth over the 4th of july, and, at showtime when my parents told me that nosotros were going to be seeing this, i was like, oh god, this is gonna be boring. only i actually liked it. i dear the whole west expanse of the country, with the mountains and stuff, and native american history, etc. i've seen very dry boring documentary films before nigh this same topic, with the only difference beingness, i believe i will really remember quite a bit of this ane, simply considering of the way information technology was presented. the fact that it was shown on an imax screen added to the enjoyment of this motion picture.
(this is my first "picture review" and so if information technology sounds like a big jumbled mess, now you know why :)

Wonderful adventure
mrow 21 September 2002
You get a sense of the risk watching this 70mm presentation, I felt I had a small feeling of what it may have been like to participate in it. The narration is excellent and it is beautifully photographed. The print I saw, at a Regal (formerly an Imax) theatre, was worn and jittery and for this I paid $ix simply it was still a great adventure.

You lot take to be interested before
Alarm: Spoilers
When it comes to American history, particularly American expeditions, y'all need to accept a previous interest in social club to appreciate the 42-minute documentary with actors, "Lewis & Clark: Great Journeying West". I did not have such and mayhap that's why information technology did not practise likewise much for me. The nature recordings weren't too impressive and the story is non memorable either, at least to me. I similar Jeff Bridges, just somehow his voice was besides monotonous here for my taste, which couldn't spark my involvement in the story either. I gauge this is generally really but worth for a people with groovy interest in the subject if they are non-Americans. They probably care more about this exploration, just like we intendance more than about history or explorers from our countries, whichever that may exist. All in all, not recommended.

In search of Pacific Ocean....

Their historic period departure is 4. Historic period Difference of 4 and 8 is very compatible in Chinese Zodiac.
They got forth very well together.
Equally if ... hey were born simply to take this journeying on Planet Earth.
PS: Continental The states of America is still the same... but Lewis and Clark are gone...

This isn't even a moving picture
I can't review this every bit a movie because information technology isn't a flick. Lewis & Clark: Bang-up Journey Westward is a 45 minute trailer for nothing. The reason I tin can't phone call this picture show a motion picture is because it doesn't even contain some fundamental concepts that make a picture show a movie. In this "movie" Scene'due south don't start and scenes don't stop. It but jumps from i place to some other with no rhyme or rhythm. Information technology contains a agglomeration of random cinematic scenes that serve admittedly no purpose. And there are a agglomeration or random scenes that accept no place in the film. It has a cohesive story but that's because it's spoon fed through narration instead of smart writing. Yous literally get no emotion from anyone. The only reason I put information technology at a ii is because the music isn't terrible to mind to and some of the shot'due south are nice. Seriously don't lookout man it. even at a brusk runtime of 45 minutes it was incredibly painful to sit through.
